Subject: Upcoming TSCA Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals and Government Shutdown
In the absence of either a Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 appropriation or a continuing resolution for the Agency, EPA shut down at 12:01 a.m. on December 29, 2018. During a shutdown,
EPA advisory committees cannot meet. Therefore, if the shutdown continues through 5:00 p.m. (EST) January 4, 2019, the TSCA Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals (SACC) January 8, 2019 Preparatory Virtual Meeting for the January 29 through February 1 meeting
on Pigment Violet 29 will be cancelled, and discussion of charge questions will be folded into the face-to-face meeting scheduled for January 29 through February 1, 2019. If the shutdown continues through 5:00 pm. (EST) January 11, 2019, the TSCA SACC’s January
29 through February 1 Peer Review of the Draft Risk Evaluation for Pigment Violet 29 (PV29) will be postponed. Please follow news reports and visit the TSCA SACC website (https://www.epa.gov/tsca-peer-review)
for potential updates regarding the government shutdown and upcoming TSCA SACC meetings.
